PROJECT 1: SKELETAL CONSTRUCTION "A SHELTER FOR ONE"
This project taught us to experience and understand skeletal construction is important as it is one of the most widely used structures for building support. Therefore, it requires us to form a group with six person and build a shelter by using the recyclable materials. We have selected cane as the main material of the shelter whereas the joint will be connected by using rope and nails.
By doing this project, we also learnt to apply the construction system in design, recognize the implication of construction systems in design and analyse the issues of strength, stiffness and stability of structures including modes of structural systems, forces, stress and strain and laws of static.
Although the first shelther that we made is fail, yet we consulted our lecturers how to improve and alter the shelter. Consequently, we came out with another modified shelter. Through this project, we also learnt to accept the failure and listen the comments or opinions which are given by lecturer. Other than that, I also learnt to work together with my groupmates and have to be patient when you are working the shelter as it will come out the problem that you wouldn't expect. Follwings are the photos and the link to report.
