FOOD AND CULTURE (ARC 3223)
Food and culture is an elective module which aims to examine and explore how the act of food preparing and consuming influences space and place making in architecture through the act of research on site experiences. It emphasizes on the processes of experiencing, capturing, diagramming, and identifying the spatial relationship of food culture within community that shape its identity of their built environment.

Learning Outcomes:

Document food culture in relation to architecture and built environment.

Experience and intepret their observation onto anlytical diagrams.

This project requires students to write a proposal in order to prepare for the field trip. We are needed to chooze an aspect of food culture within a community that you are interested. I and my groupmates decided to select Jalan Alor as our site.
PART 1: RESEARCH PROPOSAL

This assignment will be undertaken during the field trip. It involve a documentation process by which we are required to collect an collate as much data as we could, relating to your chosen topic. We are required to complete a pre-tour research on our selected topic and acts as an architectural tour guide for our classmate during the trip. Following is the video of Jalan Alor.
PART 2: EXPERIENCE AND CAPTURE

The aim of this assignment is to implement our research and present the findings into a printed form. This assignment will carried out upon return from our fieldwork. Following is the booklet regarding to my findings in Jalan Alor.
