HON YI HANG

Architecture culture and history introduced the culture and the history of different type of buildings.  At the same time, this module also introduce the basic architectural theory through a consideration of intentions, concepts, architectural language and contextual relationships.  Students also allowed to develop and expand the design concept derived from this module.

 

I have improved my knowledge about the culture and history of different buildings through this module. I have also developed and applied those knowledge on my design.  Other than that, i also found that teamwork is very important via the assignment of this module.  I have learnt to communicate and cooperate well with my groupmate to make sure our assignments can submit on time. Meanwhile i also understood the team dynamics.  In addition, i have also enhanced my thinking and problem solving skills through these few assignments of this module. These assignments allowed me to think critically and define the information from internet or books .

 

For the first assignment, it is an online group forum.  This assignment allowed me to understand the building systems at work and gather the architectural information. Meanwhile I have also exchanged opinions and shared my knowledge to others in this assignment.

 

For the second assignment, it is an analysis presentation board.  I have learnt to utilise the information from research. At the same time, i also learnt to draw and sketch about the significance of a building.

 

For the final assignment, it is a 3D abstraction model.  My groupmate and I were required to build a model by using balsa timber. I have learnt to express the details of some aspect or part of a building via this assignment. Moreover, i have also learnt how to build the model with different scales.
